Luca is a maker. Field recordings are his main source material and he combines different disciplines to draw stories, ideas and reflections on the environment we inhabit. He trained in classical music and visual art in Italy. He moved to London in 2006 and studied towards a BA(Hons) in Music and Performing Arts at the University of East London. He completed a MMus in Studio Composition at Goldsmiths College in 2012. He completed a PhD in Musical Composition at the University of Aberdeen in 2018.

‘Nasciuti’s swells and shimmers were imbued with a richness of timbre and concealed harmony, always in flux. The piece had that slightly Arabic quality that to me always sounds like magic, and assisted by a few carefully placed narrative elements (the sound of footsteps on gravel) it seemed of speak of an innocent curiosity, like a child in awe of the things most of us call mundane’. ‘Luca Nasciuti’s beautiful palindromic soundscape, performed surrounded by large packing boxes recalled the electronic drone music of artists such as Jacob Kirkegaard and Ben Frost. However, Nasciuti’s source—the recorded silences of empty or deconsecrated churches—lent the piece a structural integrity all of its own. This is sound art of a distinctive character’.
